After the death of an individual who either had a Will or died intestate (without a Will), our office can assist with probate, which is the procedure for determining the legality of the Will and appointing an Executor, or if there is no Will, appointing an Administrator. The probate of an estate, which occurs in Surrogate’s Court, is essentially a “litigation” file.
