Man Killed in Cheektowaga Motorcycle Crash

A 29-year-old man has died after being seriously injured in a motorcycle accident last week in Cheektowaga. According to police, the crash occurred at the intersection of Harlem Road and Clinton Street, just after 11:30 p.m. on May 20.

Officials said the motorcycle was traveling westbound on Clinton Street and collided with an eastbound white Chevrolet Equinox turning north onto Harlem Road. The motorcycle operator was transported to the Erie County Medical Center, where he died of his injuries five days later.

Police said the driver of the Chevy Equinox fully cooperated with the investigation, and no charges have been filed in the incident.

Intersections are particularly dangerous for motorcyclists due to visibility issues and turning vehicles, especially at night. Unfortunately, motorcycle accidents at intersections are common and often result in severe or fatal injuries due to the lack of riders’ physical protection.

In New York, liability in intersection crashes often hinges on right-of-way laws, visibility, and whether either driver was speeding or failed to yield.
