Daniel J. Chiacchia, Esq. is one of Western New York’s leading personal injury trial attorneys, known for his relentless advocacy on behalf of injured clients and survivors of child sexual abuse. He has successfully litigated numerous claims under New York’s Child Victims Act and was instrumental in securing a landmark $150 million settlement against the Roman Catholic Diocese of Buffalo on behalf of nearly 900 survivors of clergy sexual abuse.

 

Before launching his private practice in 1992, Dan served as a prosecutor in the Erie County District Attorney’s Office, where he tried hundreds of criminal cases. This extensive courtroom experience continues to drive his vigorous and effective advocacy for clients today. Since entering private practice, Dan has established himself as one of the best trial lawyers in Western New York. He is both aggressive and practical, routinely achieving success for his clients whether it be a million dollar personal injury verdict or negotiating a substantial settlement.

 

Dan is a member of the Erie County Bar Association and the American Trial Lawyers Association. He is admitted in New York State and Massachusetts as well as the United States District Court, Western District. He earned his law degree from the University of Buffalo and his Bachelor of Arts degree from SUNY Fredonia.

 

Beyond his legal practice, Dan is deeply committed to serving his community. A longtime member of the town recreation board, he has dedicated years to mentoring local youth and coaching football and basketball, fostering teamwork and leadership both on and off the field. He was instrumental in establishing the mock trial program at his alma mater, Frontier High School, earning commendations for his many hours of service. Dan also volunteers extensively as a guest lecturer at local high schools and colleges, inspiring students to reach their full potential.
